Finding Nemo - Photos from Escape Reef, Tongue Reef, Michaelmas Cay

A week of fine weather to explore the reefs east of Port Douglas and Cairns - October 6th-13th. Here are a few favourite photos. No doubt the Captain will follow up with a couple of words.
Second Mate (often reserved in his praise) thinks Tongue Reef is "alright"

Clown Anemone Fish - Tongue Reef
At present we are actually sitting behind Fraser Island waiting for high tide in the morning to tackle Wide Bay Bar. Finally some internet coverage and spare time to try to bring the blog up to the present day. We crossed the Tropic of Capricorn and the southernmost point of the Great Barrier Reef a couple of days ago so obviously a few miles have been covered since these photos were taken north of Cairns. We have been busily pushing south since the north easterlies kicked in a couple of weeks ago.
Lots of colour and fantastic water clarity - hard corals Escape Reef

Millions of fish - Michaelmas Cay

Two thumbs up from The Rock
